In Colours!

Welcome once again to the Jems' Monthly Blog Hop. Grab yourself a nice cuppa and hop from one blog to the next and be INK-spired by what you see.  Our theme for this month, is the new In Colours 2016-2018.....so, here they are the new and gorgeous colours from Stampin Up. Which is your favourite?

My favourite is the Emerald Envy. This colour (as you will see) has totally ink-spired my blog today. For me, today is Everything Emerald.

My first little project came about when I fell in love with the new hostess stamp set Love you lots.

If you want to get your hands on this adorable set, then contact your Stampin' Up demonstrator. If you currently don't have a Stampin Up demonstrator,  then, don't miss out contact me to find out more about hosting Stampin up events and how to earn freebies too.

Back to Love you lots. I think this frog is so cute...

For my first little project, I stamped the frog image from the Love you lots stamp set using my archival black Stampin Up ink pad. I stamped onto whisper white cards. Then using my blender pen, I coloured in the frog using my Emerald Envy Stampin Up ink pad. I kept this project simple. I think that this stamp set lends itself really well if you want to make beautiful, simple cards as well as more decorative cards too. The sketched art work of all the images in this stamp set are gorgeous. I also added the sentiments from the Love you lots set to complete my little cards.

My second project was created using two stamp sets Watercolour Wings and Papillon potpourri. Papillon Potpourri was the first stamp set I ever purchased from Stampin up and it is one of my faithful and trusty sets. Whenever I use it, I always love the way that the addition of a butterfly, punched out using the Elegant butterfly punch  and/or the Bitty butterfly punch  brings a project to life.

The Watercolour Wings butterfly was created by inking up the 'solid butterfly' from the photopolymer stamp set in Emerald Envy ink, stamping off the image first, then stamping it onto whisper white card stock. I then inked up one of the 'wing detail' stamps and stamped over the top of my stamped off image. Then using my big shot and the bold butterfly framelits  I cut out a butterfly in whisper white card stock and used a dauber and Emerald Envy ink to sponge it all over. I made it darker at the edges to try and give it more depth. This 'sponged butterfly' was then glued using tombo glue to the centre of the butterfly already stamped on the card.

(ooohh, you can just see another card I made peeping out in the background -see I do use other colours...)

I then stamped a row of bitty butterflies using the Papillon potpourri stamp set.  I inked the bitty butterfly' stamp in Emerald Envy ink and stamped the image onto the card. I didn't re-ink my stamp and kept stamping to get bitty butterflies of different intensities, until it faded, then I inked up again and repeated the steps until I was happy with the effect. To give the project some lift, I stamped some of the bitty butterflies and punched them out using the bitty butterfly punch. I glued them to the card allowing me to lift up the wings.

I added the sentiment that comes as part of the watercolour wings set -'just for you' to finish off this card.

To complete the project, the edges were sponged with a dauber-you guessed it -using Emerald Envy Stampin Up ink. I love the effect that sponging has, it really lifts a project and can make images and embellishments 'pop'.

Thank you for visiting me, hope you enjoyed it. Thank you also for joining the Jems' monthly blog. See you next month, if not before, and remember don't stop here - use the icons at the bottom of my blog to...

'HOP' to the next post...                   ...or 'HOP' back if you missed one.

....right time for me to go and start using the other In Colours 2016-2018 for more projects. Yipee.

So Happy this is in the New Catalogue!

I'm so HAPPY this in the NEW CATALOGUE The annual catalogue is now live and it is so exciting. It is full to bursting with gorgeous products. A new in colour range and some amazing new products and stamp sets which I just LOVE and can't wait to get my hands one. Of course, there are some products that I am so happy that they are in the new catalogue. As I am waiting on my order of new items to arrive (I just couldn't decide what I wanted first), I have based my blog hop contribution today on things that I am so happy that they are staying. I have chosen a few stamp sets (there are so many) that I really love using. First up.... Beautiful You meets Sheltering Tree. Beautiful You is a gorgeous photopolymer stamp set introduced in the spring/summer catalogue from Stampin' Up and it remains with us in the new 2017/2018 annual catalogue.
